Year 11 pupils were celebrating after achieving a 77.8 percent A* to C pass rate at GCSE.
As well as the nine year 11 students, six year 10 and four year 9 pupils score highly.
Overall 19 pupils achieved a 56.8 percent A* to B pass rate. Mary Haddy who gives the results to each pupil individually, said: "We're so pleased with the results again this year.
"We're a small close knit school and everyone supports everyone else, so the grades our pupils received will be celebrated by everyone here.
"It's also wonderful that our year 9 and 10 pupils gained such good results but I put that down to their hard work and that of my amazing teaching staff."
Parent Testimonials
"I attended an open evening with my child and spoke at length with the teachers, Head Teacher and other pupils about the school, the curriculum and the support my child might receive. It was clear that the emphasis on the child was to support the child holistically, not only enable achievement through the national curriculum, but to support the child in their life skills, to focus on what the child can do, and enable creativity; to offer a small community of learning where all the child’s skills can be enhanced." - Year 5 Parent
"The school is quite traditional in its expectations of personal conduct and any issues between children are resolved through dialogue and discipline. This is something that I have also welcomed as it reflects most parents’ values and is not available in larger schools simply because of time and volume. " - Year 8 Parent
"Our son attended Highfields straight from nursery school.
We were disillusioned with the offering from state infant and primary schools. Large class sizes, prescriptive learning and loss of individuality.
Highfields provides an environment of family values, and small class sizes, where the individual is allowed to shine and express creativity. Any learning issues are addressed quickly. Also, as parents we have easy access to both the teacher and head teacher. This ensures our son thrives in a happy and effective environment." - Year 5 Parent
"The difference is absolutely amazing. We have always known him to be a very capable child both physically and intellectually. Unfortunately in mainstream schooling this was not coming to the fore and emotionally he was definitely not prospering as he should have. My wife and I both feel the difference in him if to a great extent due to the work put in by both your staff and yourself. We also feel that the environment at Highfields is precisely what a young man such as him needed." - Year 10 Parent
"All three children have benefitted immeasurably from their time at Highfields. The root here is not that it is a private school, but that it can remain small, keep small class sizes and serve all the pupils simply better." - Year 7/11 Parent
"We visited Highfields and decided straight away that this was the right school for him... He did his first GCSE at the age of 13 and achieved an A grade in statistics. He is now a confident, well-rounded young man who is looking forward to the challenges the future will undoubtedly bring." - Year 10 Parent
"When it came to secondary education we checked out all the secondary
schools in the local catchments area and visited one of them. We were not at
all impressed with the Ofsted reports or with the standard of behaviour that we
saw when we visited.
We looked at other options and finally decided on private education at
Highfields, because we were very pleased with the Ofsted reports and when
we visited, the class sizes the standard of education and the facilities were all
impressive." - Year 7 Parent
"Our son had a very difficult year at his previous state Primary School (2009-2010). He was very often unhappy and had started to show behavioural problems. Since moving to Highfields, he has been much happier, and the school has been very supportive in trying to help him with the difficulties he has had. There has been a genuine desire to help our son." - Year 2 Parent
"I cannot speak highly enough of this school; in a very short period of time (one term) it has reversed what has been a very worrying situation in my 14 year old daughter’s education and development.
She had previously attended both a reputable independent school and a popular state school, but failed to thrive; years of bullying had affected her self esteem and confidence badly. She became unmotivated with poor concentration, which was exacerbated by chronic fatigue and ill health...The small, caring and attentive environment of the school is outstanding. This has allowed her to regain her confidence and we have even seen glimpses of her extrovert nature, which we had feared was gone forever. She is now motivated, popular and working hard to achieve good results. Her expectations have risen dramatically; the discipline is firm and fair and encourages children to be responsible individuals. We feel so relieved to have found Highfields School; I cannot imagine where we would be without it." - Year 10 Parent
