Highfields School Choir is for all who show an interest in singing regardless of their ability; it's their enthusiasm that matters! The choir learns pieces in two or three part harmony, usually unaccompanied, in varying styles and genres, spanning eras from Tudor to present day.

Being a member of a choir helps with vocal technique, pitching and breathing, and the development of musical expression. Each member learns to release and perform with awareness of their own and others' musical part. They learn the importance of their note as an individual and the part this plays in the choir as a whole.

Choir can be both fun and serious, but always enjoyable. The reward for weeks of hard rehearsing being a good performance in a concert in front of a 'live' audience.

During our last student council meeting it was decided that if you have a talent it should be put to good use. Choir is therefore mandatory to pupils with good singing voices!

We have a private guitar tutor who visits to give lessons.

We also have tutors available for piano, keyboard, singing, flute, saxophone and clarinet.
